SOcial Media Campaigns
Isolation Game
Considered a favourite venue among stand-up comedians, I wanted to construct a social media campaign for Norwich Theatre Playhouse that could build on this relationship. Utilising the ‘Isolation Game’ format, I designed a special stand-up comedy edition featuring a range of notable comedians, the majority of which have performed on the Playhouse stage.
One of my hopes was that the comedians would interact with each other, particularly on Twitter, to generate comedic responses and further the reach of the content. This worked perfectly with the examples below: Rufus Hound and Jayde Adams, plus Sarah Millican and Gary Delaney, two comics who happen to be married!
The post has had over 140,000 impressions on Twitter, with around 400 people engaging with the game and has now become one of the top performing posts for the venue.
Musical WOrld Cup
I selected 64 of the most popular productions of all time and pitted them against each other, through social media polls.
Over the course of the tournament, my goal was to engage our audience in a new way for the organisation and celebrate our followers’ passion for musical theatre.
In the Grand Final we saw 4,500 votes, with Les Misérables and Wicked both encouraging their fans to get involved.
Famous faces in the industry provided punditry and predictions throughout the campaign, encouraging over 400 new faces to follow Norwich Theatre on Instagram!
The Musical World Cup campaign was also featured in an article by Reeve Social Media, titled: How Brands Are Utilising Social Media During Covid-19.
Musical Scavenger Hunt
To celebrate #NationalScavengerHuntDay, we decided to set the Norwich Theatre Royal followers a musical-based challenge and see if they could solve our mysterious puzzles. By setting a series of clues, we led the players on a journey through a number of show-inspired locations, such as Shrek’s Swamp and Crunchem Hall from Matilda The Musical. Engagement was high with fans submitting their guesses, and combined with our specially written story, the event was a great celebration of the magic of Musical Theatre.
